Acne Medication Overview

Acne is a skin inflammation that can be caused by some factors like contact with an oily substance, use of certain acne medication, steroid on the contraceptive pill, and the secretion of androgens. Today, more than 90 percent of the world’s acne patients respond to acne medication, although some of the treatments take several days, months, and even years to complete.

The medication for acne can be classified into herbal, homeopathic and traditional. Herbs such as lavender, chamomile, bergamot, juniper, burdock root and dandelion root have been proven to be powerful medications against acne. These herbal acne medications are noted to lessen toxicity and enhance the overall condition of the skin. There are also the Echinacea and poke root which are often employed for their anti-inflammatory qualities.
